Moving to a different plan
Upgrade whenever you like and pay only the difference.
On this page
Upgrading happens the moment you ask for it. A smaller plan waits until the period you have already paid for runs out. Those are two different rules on purpose, and both of them exist so nobody pays twice for the same days.
Upgrading
Pick the larger plan and the new limits apply straight away — no waiting for a renewal date, no second subscription.
You pay only the difference. Whatever you have paid for and not yet used is worked out to the day and credited against the new plan. Halfway through a month on a $199 plan, roughly $99 of that month is still yours; move to a $799 plan and you are charged about $700, not $799.
The billing page shows the exact figure on the button before you commit to anything, and the amount charged is recorded against the change afterwards.
The credit is worked out from time, not from how much you used the plan. That is deliberate — crediting by usage would mean the people who got the most out of the product pay the most to upgrade.
Moving to a smaller plan
You cannot switch down mid-period, and the billing page will tell you the date when you can.
The reason is that you have already paid for the plan you are on until that date. Moving you down sooner would mean either refunding you for days you can still use, or quietly taking away something you have already bought. Waiting until the period ends avoids both.
If you would rather stop entirely, Cancel subscription does the same thing: it takes effect at the end of the paid period, and nothing is deleted when it does. See [[billing-lapse]].
Monthly and yearly
Switching from monthly to yearly counts as an upgrade and takes effect immediately, with the unused part of the month credited. Going from yearly back to monthly is a step down, so it waits for the year to finish.
If a plan says "not available yet"
That plan has no price configured on this installation. It is a setup step rather than something wrong with your account — an administrator needs to finish connecting the payment provider.
